Our Weekend Bike Ride via Instagram

Photobucket
Right now, Bryan is in between seasons. Cherries just finished and apples are starting to grow. So lately, we have been going to the fruit stands for our fruit. On Sunday, we rode 10 miles on our tandem to the Yolo Fruit Stand after church and piled our backpacks full of fruits and veggies. But as we were on our way back our tire blew out. Thank God for our friend Nate who has a sweet van that can fit a tandem because a 10 mile walk in that heat would have been awful! Thanks Nate!

Mirror Maze

This weekend we also did something called the "mirror maze", which is this huge maze made out of mirrors. Mirrors, not beers. [Earlier I was telling a friend that I went through the mirror maze and she thought I was saying beer maze. Lesson learned. I need to work on pronunciation.] Anyways, I would say that Bryan and I got our twelve dollars worth out of this thing. We went through it forwards, backward, raced each other from each side, and did a couple more rounds after going wine tasting. Overall, super fun!

P.S. I would also like to point out that Bryan did not participate in the wine tasting; however, I did. I would also like to add that I somehow improved my mirror maze time after wine tasting and managed to beat Bryan by whole minutes. I am a mirror maze champ!

Something to look forward to

This weekend we felt so blessed to be a part of Henri and Dianne's 60th wedding anniversary. It was amazing to watch all seven of their children tell beautiful stories all weekend rich with laughter and love and know that it was their marriage that laid the foundation for it all. Bryan at one point asked if they had advice for all the newly weds in the family and his grandpa said [paraphrased because I have an awful memory], "It's hard work. Every evening we said grace and after grace we kissed each other. Make sure you kiss each other, even if you are gritting your teeth and don't want to. And it doesn't hurt to say you're sorry a lot." Later he added, "and it doesn't hurt to say I love you a lot."
