Emma & Peter // Engagement

For months I've known that I would be shooting Emma and Peter's proposal. What I didn't know is that watching someone get engaged is just as exciting as watching two people get married. I'm a fan. Like a real big one.

Hiding in a pile of Christmas tree trimmings, I watched as Peter got down on one knee and Emma jump into his arms with pure joy saying yes! I cried. I laughed. I refrained from squealing when she accepted. It was perfect and lovely. You walk away feeling so lucky that you got to witness something so beautiful and life changing.

Below is a few frames of the proposal and the rest is the surprise engagement shoot Peter planned for his Emma. [You want ridiculously happy engagement photos? Do them right after you propose. Seriously.]

senior portraits // Debi

It was 5 years ago that I moved to Davis and my heart was set on doing youth ministry. I found a church and I was given a group of girls in 8th grade. Now they're seniors--doing college apps and getting ready for independent life to start. Really if I talk any more about them, I'm going to cry. They are one of the best things that Davis had for me.

Then there's Debi. One of "my girls". She's confident, strong, kind hearted, and goes out of her way to make people feel included. Oh and she's Dutch (look at her awesome Dutch military jacket). We spent the evening at her grandpa's shop climbing on farm equipment, wading into streams, and like every moment with Debi--laughing till our sides hurt.

Debi, I love you.
